Hi beauties,

I'm back in Toronto after 14 glorious days in Tulum and the sunshine withdrawals are real. Being away from routine, my desk and daily responsibilities for 2 weeks allowed me to step back and check in with myself to see how I'm doing and re-focus on where I need to set my intentions.

It was so nice to have the opportunity to relax but I would be lying if I said it was easy for me to relax. I had this constant feeling of guilt in the back of my mind telling me I should be working. Being an entrepreneur means that I'm blessed to have the flexibly to extend a vacation when needed but that also means when I'm not working, nothing is getting done. I think most entrepreneurs would agree when I say, there is always something to do!

I tried the "let's do a little bit of work while we were away" thing. Which meant shooting some projects for Jose and I that needed to get done. They all turned out to take way more time than anticipated and quickly became stressful. I know everything looks super glamorous (sometimes it is) and easy on social media but just know that there is always a back story and the amount of work that goes into what our community does would probably come as a surprise.

Having said all of that, I think a higher power was looking out for us. My husband made an error when booking our flights which we discovered at the airport on our way back to Toronto. We had the option to stay another week and we jumped on it.

Thankfully, I was totally able to get into vacation mode during the second week. I realized that going forward I need to I focus more intently on that ever tricky work-life balance. I also need to work on not being too concerned with things beyond the current moment and really enjoy the present moment.

xx
