NEW CHANEL

Hi beauties,

This post feels a bit surreal because owning a Chanel has always been something I dreamed about. I remember watching The Hills (so excited it’s coming back!) and thinking at the time - I want to work in fashion + beauty and own a Chanel one day. Fast forward 12 years and it’s been manifested. It’s not something I just went into the store and bought or swiped a credit card and made happen. I literally started a savings account - Jose and I have been consigning all of our clothes (we get a LOT) and slowly started adding to the account until it finally got to a place we were comfortable with. I did a ton of research on Youtube about which style, leather, hardware to choose because I wanted to make sure I got the right one. I went with caviar leather vs. lambskin because it’s way more durable and doesn’t scratch. Every blogger I know says the same thing, lamb looks more luxe but it literally scratches so easily and is for special occasions only because it’s so delicate.

I wanted something I didn’t have to worry about wearing all the time because let’s face it, the cost per wear on this baby is going to take a lifetime to bring down. The next tough decision was what size to get. I ended up getting the medium/large size because it’s the perfect size to wear in the summer and winter, it’s a great size for walking around when I travel, go to special events, and for everyday use.

I considered the next size up, the jumbo but I don’t love that you can’t wear it cross body or single strap, because the strap is too long and it sits really low on the hip. It’s also not something I’d wear on a night out or to formal events because it feels a bit large for evening and is perfect for someone who wants an everyday, during-the-day bag.
